Rebuild Your Smile with Dental Implants

Missing teeth can affect both the appearance and function of your smile. With dental implants, you can replace the entire structure of your tooth, from root to crown, for a stable and natural-looking result. At Beautiful Smiles By Design in Miami, FL, you can undergo every stage of your implant treatment in the same place. Our board-certified periodontist, Dr. Judith Lubin, is a diplomat in periodontology and can precisely place your dental implants. Once your implants are in place, Dr. Roy Greenberg or Dr. Laurence Stein can attach an attractive, realistic restoration to enjoy for years to come.

Implants act as artificial tooth roots for a natural-looking result.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a small, titanium post which, once embedded into the jaw bone, provides unparalleled support for restorations, such as crowns, bridges, or dentures. In the jaw, the implant fuses with surrounding bone tissue in a process known as osseointegration. A custom-made restoration with a small connector, known as an abutment, is then attached. Dental implants are a strong, stable restoration that provide a comfortable and natural-looking result.

Explore Your Candidacy

Ideal candidates for dental implants are missing one or more teeth and are in good oral and overall health. Since implants rely on surrounding bone for support, you also need sufficient tissue in your jaw. We can assess your candidacy for this procedure during an initial consultation at our office.

Replacing lost teeth with implants can restore full function and improve the appearance of your smile.

Using x-rays and cone beam CT scans, Dr. Greenberg or Dr. Stein can examine your jaw to determine if dental implants are right for you and plan your treatment. For some patients, dental bone grafts can restore candidacy for dental implant placement.

The Implant Treatment Process

There are several stages involved in restoring your smile with dental implants. Our doctors will carefully plan your treatment and create a surgical guide for placement of your implants. If you require preparatory procedures, such as gum disease treatment to improve your oral health before implant placement, we can perform these as well.

Implant Placement

During implant placement, Dr. Lubin will make small incisions to access the jaw and embed the titanium posts into the tissue. We offer several forms of conscious sedation to ensure your comfort during the procedure. We may place a temporary restoration after your implant placement to wear during the healing process.

Final Restoration

It typically takes between three to six months for the posts to fuse properly with the surrounding tissue. During this time, you will visit our office periodically so that we can monitor your healing. When your implants are fully healed, Dr. Greenberg or Dr. Stein can attach abutments to your posts and take impressions of the posts and any remaining teeth. In some cases, our team uses custom abutments for an even more natural and hygienic result. Using impressions of your smile, our lab will craft a custom restoration that can be attached to your abutments for a fully restored smile.
